Chief Mau Moalboal Hostel

Such a great hostel - amazing location, cool common areas to chill, and such friendly staff who know you by name! The rooms were extremely spacious and clean and some of the best I’ve stayed in. The bathroom wasn’t the best - no ventilation so it smelled really bad in there in the evening and the rain shower was nice but not enough water coming out so hard to shower. Other than that, would recommend and hope they take these reviews as constructive feedback to improve :)

Really good location within moalboal but it does get pretty loud at night. We were exhausted from day tours that we passed out anyway. The private room was pretty basic but good for a hostel. Air-conditioning worked really well too. The common area has lots of activities and lounge areas to connect with other travellers. I played darts and pool, and saw other playing cards, etc. There was a live acoustic band one night we were there and set a chill, fun tone for the evening. Didn't get to try the food and drinks there as there were lots of places to eat nearby. The biggest ick for me was the bathroom. There was no ventilation so there was a weird smell and the scent / air freshener they were using was terrible. It smelled like dead centipede - even the towel had the same smell.

Stayed only for one night. Very clean and chill. Very easy to meet other people. The hostel is conveniently located. If you’re a nomad and work remotely, the internet is not that reliable, but there are coffee shops just a few steps away from the hostel which have fast and consistent internet connection (or you can use your mobile data 😊)

The place to be in Basdiot, Moalboal! Perfectly located near the beach, ATM, massage, food... everything. The staff is super friendly, helpful and always in a good mood. The hostel is very comfy, clean and has good food and drinks. I booked every tour at the hostel and have never been disappointed. I really can recommend, feels like home! Maraming salamat, hopefully I will be back soon🤗

Really nice hostel with friendly staff! We had our Christmas dinner there and it was a super fun night. They have a really nice chill out area where they also serve breakfast. The location is perfect. They also have a warm shower which was nice. We slept in the dorms and the private room. The only negative thing was our night in the private room. The private room is super noisy. There is a water pump just in front of it and it woke us up several times in the night. I would not sleep there again. The dorm rooms are nice.
